Join me for hands-on, beginner-friendly sewing lessons in Ladysmith! Whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to improve your skills, I offer personalized classes to help you master the basics or perfect your technique. From learning how to make your first garment to understanding pattern fitting, these classes are designed to be fun and accessible for everyone. Together, we’ll unlock your creativity and make something amazing! All skill levels are welcome, and I can’t wait to help you discover the joy of sewing.

January Beginner’s Class – Auden Sweatshirt

This four week class is designed to support beginners as you learn how to sew your first garments. You will learn how to use your sewing machine, read a pattern, pick fabric and make your first pieces of clothing all in a fun and supportive environment! No experience is necessary to join, we take all level of beginners. You must be 16 years+ to join the class.

The month we will focus on making a sweatshirt. The Auden is my all-time favourite and comes in adult sizes from XS-5X (up to 59” chest). There is also an options to make kids sizing in 2T-17. This pattern has a lovely oversized fit, with the option to add pockets or colour-blocking if you are an advanced beginner.

January Classes will run: 5-7pm Fridays Jan 9, 16, 23 and 30.

February Beginner’s Class – Simple Leggings

In February we will be making a simple legging pattern. Peg Legs by P4P is a fabulous (and free) beginner legging pattern that allows for fun additions and expansions as your experience grows. The pattern fits XXS-5X (up to 64″ hip). If you want to make for child sizing, there is also the option to make the Waves and Wild Lightening Legging (size New Born – 12 years).

Beginners who have attended classes before can opt to add pockets to their leggings too!

February Classes will run: 5-7pm Wednesdays Feb 4, 11, 18 and 25.

All classes are taught at my Ladysmith studio.

Private Sewing Classes (book solo or for up to 3 people)

Enjoy a personalised 4-week sewing experience where you can select the projects you want to work on.

This private class is ideal for beginners or small groups (up to 3 people with similar skill levels) and offers flexible scheduling. Whether you’re completing a full project or exploring multiple skills, you’ll receive tailored guidance. It is a great option if you like the idea of a group class, but want a bit more personalised support and choice!

Classes times and dates to suit you. Each class is 2 hours long and you get 1 class per week for 4 weeks.

Pricing varies based on group size:

1 Person – $240

2 People – $200 per person

3 People – $160 per person

Teen Classes

Have a teen who wants to learn to sew? Come join one of two specially designed classes to get your teen into a new a creative hobby!

Classes are private and can be booked for 1-3 people. Both options are beginner friendly and will help get your teen feeling confident using a sewing machine as they explore their new skill! There are even options to rent a sewing machine if you don’t have one.

Intro To Sewing: This is a 4 x 1 hour class for 11 years+. We will cover the basics of getting your sewing machine up and running. Build confidence using a sewing machine while we work our way through some fun mini projects. Students under 15 must complete this course before moving onto Clothing and Accessory Construction. $160pp (discounts if booking for 2+).

Clothing and Accessory Construction (15 years + or after completing Intro to Sewing): This is a 4 x 2 hour class. We will work from start to finish on a fun project as your teen learns to follow a pattern and use their sewing machine. Project options include t-shirt, sweatshirt, sweatpants, shorts or a tote bag. This class can be adapted based on experience level. $240 pp (discounts if booking for 2+).

Group Class Add On: Pre-Class Confidence Boost

Please note this option is only available to those booked onto a group class. It is not required before attending, but can provide a confidence boost before class for those who would appreciate it.

Never touched a sewing machine before? Want to join a group class, but need a bump of confidence first? No Problem!

This one-off class is designed solely to get you comfortable turning on a sewing machine and learning how to make it work.

We will go over how to set up the machine, get you familiar with the basic stitches and some sewing terminology and even get you stitching your first mini project.

This class is a completely private two hour session, so we can work at your pace. You will walk away with more confidence, ready to join a group class.

$80 per person and you don’t even need your own machine!

*Please note that this is an optional confidence-boosting class for those with no experience using a sewing machine before. It is not required for the beginners group classes.
