Open Group Class – May
Morning and Afternoon Options Now Available!
Open to all ability levels – come improve your sewing skills in a fun and supportive group environment.
You can bring your choice of project(s) to work on or choose from a list of suggested patterns if you need a little help deciding what to make. This will allow you more say in what you are creating, while still providing the support you love in The Coastal Stitcher group classes.
The course runs once a week over four weeks and class sizes are kept small, so you get the dedicated support you need to build your skills and expand your sewing knowledge.
You must be 18 years or older to join and know how to thread and run a sewing machine. Beginners who have completed there first project are more than welcome to still join in! The class is designed for you to easily move up from our beginner’s group offerings.

Beginners Group Class – May
T-Shirt or T-Shirt Dress (Helen’s Closet Jackson Tee)
The month’s class will focus on making a short or long sleeve t-shirt pattern or a t-shirt dress. The Jackson Tee by Helen’s closet is the perfect pattern when learning to sew and my all-time favourite for making comfy t-shirts. It comes in adult sizes from 0-34 (up to 60” chest). This four week class is designed to support beginners as you learn how to sew your first garments. You will learn how to use your sewing machine, read a pattern, pick fabric and make your first pieces of clothing all in a fun and supportive environment! No experience is necessary to join, we take all level of beginners. You must be 18 years+ to join the class.
Classes will run: 5-7pm Tuesdays May 5, 12, 19 and 26th
All classes are taught in my Ladysmith studio.

Private Sewing Classes (book solo or for up to 3 people)

Enjoy a personalised 4-week sewing experience where you can select the projects you want to work on.
This private class is ideal for beginners or small groups (up to 3 people with similar skill levels) and offers flexible scheduling. Whether you’re completing a full project or exploring multiple skills, you’ll receive tailored guidance in a fun and supportive environment. It is a great option if you like the idea of a group class, but want a bit more personalised support and choice!
Classes times and dates to suit you. Each class is 2 hours long and you get 1 class per week for 4 weeks.
Pricing varies based on group size:
1 Person – $240
2 People – $200 per person
3 People – $160 per person
Teen Classes
Have a teen who wants to learn to sew? Come join one of two specially designed classes to get your teen into a new a creative hobby!
All teen classes are private. Both options are beginner friendly and will help get your teen feeling confident using a sewing machine as they explore their new skill! There are even options to rent a sewing machine if you don’t have one.
Intro To Sewing: This is a 4 x 1 hour class for 11 years+. We will cover the basics of getting your sewing machine up and running and build confidence while we work our way through some fun mini projects. Students under 15 must complete this course before moving onto Clothing and Accessory Construction. $160pp.
Clothing and Accessory Construction (15 years + or after completing Intro to Sewing): This is a 4 x 2 hour class. We will work from start to finish on a fun project as your teen learns to follow a pattern and use their sewing machine. Project options include t-shirt, sweatshirt, sweatpants, shorts or a tote bag. This class can be adapted based on experience level. $240 pp.

Get personalised, one-on-one sewing instruction tailored to your skill level and goals, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your technique. Classes can be offered on sewing machines or sergers.
This options is designed for those looking to book one-off lessons or a longer strings of teaching. If you are looking for a great beginners options, please see the 4 week private lessons above.
